Karen E. Joynt Maddox, MD, MPH is a cardiologist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, an Associate Professor at Washington University School of Medicine, and co-director of the Center for Advancing Health Services, Policy and Economics Research at Washington University’s Institute for Public Health. Dr. Joynt Maddox is a health services and health policy researcher with expertise in quality and outcomes measurement, value-based and alternative payment models, and health equity. She is an Associate Editor at JAMA, and serves on a number of national committees related to quality and policy.
